Ugh! Nothing more uncomfortable than know that others are hungry and waiting for YOUR meal to arrive before they start. I agree that when it’s a large group, once several people have been served it’s reasonable to begin eating. However, let’s put the onus on the not-served: please assure those who have been served already that you would prefer they begin their meal–it is for you they are delaying. And those who have been served should then oblige by beginning to eat.
