Eligibility restriction: Applicants must be 15 to 25 years of age as of November 5, 2023; must be permanent residents or citizens of Canada or have proof of immigration status in Canada; and must be students (i.e. enrolled as a student in a public school, private school, homeschool, post-secondary institution, or other legally recognized educational institution) at time of contest deadline. What’s required: An online application along with an essay of 1200 to 1500 words on one of the following topics: “Free speech and the internet”, or “Protests, free speech, and democracy.”
