According to Brian Tracy, in his audiobook Goals, the higher our goals are, the more adversity we face. Adversity is delicious, as it’s part of our growth. This weekend, I will see singer Celine Dion’s documentary in which she discusses her neurological disorder and its impact on her career. I want to know the mindset of a woman who gains enormous fame and how she approaches being inflicted with a severe condition. Many of us at AU are here because we, too, have been inflicted by a condition or disability, such as anxiety. I’ve been inflicted with chronic conditions and disabilities, too, and I want to know how Celine Dion handles it to secure her heightened success.
With that said, I received the final rejection email from the three funding agencies I applied to for my documentary film. Given my constraint of not tapping into investors due to potential ramifications, I might need to find a way to fund this myself or get crafty. But I’ve got to make this happen. I’ve also started a documentary filmmaking course, and it’s a steep learning curve. I contacted a voice-over expert I’ve worked with before, and he replied with a decent fee for his services. He is highly professional, fantastic to work with, and a TV news host. He is a class act, so he is a great asset. Making this documentary is a life mission I chose before arriving in this world, and it’s got to happen. According to Brian Tracy, if we respond to disappointment by learning from it and pushing forward, we will achieve great success! Our most incredible breakthroughs come from persistence!
I’ve also got a goal of becoming a billionaire. People are making billions, and they are not any more innately superior or more intelligent than us. So, why can’t we make billions? It doesn’t matter where we come from, as sometimes the most distressing starts in life can lead to the most extraordinary resilience and numerous other positive outcomes. Don’t ask whether or not something is achievable, says Brian Tracy. The question instead is, how can I achieve it? That’s because we have unlimited potential.
So, here are ways I hope to earn extra money to fund this documentary film:
First, I just won a scholarship today! That’s another $750 toward the goal! I plan on using the scholarship to buy the final course for an academic certificate. However, I still need funds to meet the goal of making a documentary film. Brian Tracy says that we can have whatever we hold in our minds continuously.
This week, I also won the side gig moonlighting role as an ongoing emcee for strategy meetings amongst national and global corporate C-suite executives. That means I’ll be a fly on the wall to internalize the strategies of top-tier leaders in public companies. It also means I’ll earn another $5000 or more a year as extra income. Yesterday, I served as the emcee at the event, and during the event, I realized I might have as much intelligent commentary to provide as everyone else in the room. (I’m often exposed to advanced “corporate” and macroeconomic thoughts daily.) However, I also learned I must do something with my hair. Nonetheless, I now have extra revenue and insights into top national and global leadership strategies. We have unlimited potential; by exposing ourselves to people in the fields in which we wish to excel, we gain insights into what we need to address to rise to the top. And we can all rise to the top in any field we choose.
As another financial boon, I discovered today that if I enroll in the final course of a critical thinking and problem-solving certificate, I will qualify to tutor people. This could generate even more side revenue, and I already prepaid for the final course. Recently, though, I thought of asking for a refund for the course, but I referred to my long-term goals, which specify that I want the educational skills for a CMO role 20 years down the road, so I decided to continue with the course. We must stay committed to our long-term goals, and that’s why setting giant goals in the first place serves as a guiding compass.
But the above are all side gigs, and a key goal is to become a billionaire. To do this, I want to invest in an index fund of top companies in Canada. This will likely have an 8% interest rate, and I’d deposit $100 in it every month. I want to start this soon. But to be a billionaire in investing, we should develop stocks and options trading skills. But we need money to invest in the first place. One idea I thought of that I will share with all of us is to create educational course modules that incorporate virtual and augmented reality and sell them to universities and colleges. I am learning C# every day as part of my career. I tack on an extra half hour at the end of my shift, clock it in as professional development, and dedicate it toward the virtual reality programming goal in Unity. If I can develop virtual reality skills, I can create these modules and maybe advance as an industry leader in virtual reality educational tools.
Despite the above, I still need a clear path to generate enough revenue (at least $10,000) for the documentary film. Time is running out, as two interviewees are in their last chapter in life. We must bust and move to fulfill our life missions, as the more energy we give our goals, the more light we can bring to this world when infused with love for everyone. And love for everyone is the foundation of the documentary film.
