Learning, working, eating healthy, and fitness are alike. When we do these things every day, we get magnificent results. For instance, when building muscles daily, we may be making little progress day after day. But, after a while, we start to bulk up, and the more we push the boundaries with heavier weights, the more muscle matter we tend to gain. And suddenly, we become pure strength, even at an Olympian fitness level. The growth curve is the same with applying for jobs nightly, eating six or more fruits and vegetables daily, or exploring hobbies that spark our curiosity. If we persist, we’ll blossom.
As for fitness, I recommend getting physically fit, regardless of our present condition. For instance, if we are in a wheelchair, we could do upper body weightlifting routines daily. Search YouTube for weightlifting routines and buy weights at about $1 per pound from Walmart. Add cardio, ab work, and a stretch; soon enough, we’ll look and feel like physical superstars. We may likely end up in better shape than most non-wheelchair users.
Surprisingly, I have grown healthier due to reducing my grocery budget by a third every two weeks. I know this is the case because my stools are now optimal, according to the Bristol stool chart. Forgive me if this sounds uncouth, but it is relevant when considering our health status. I had previously wondered if I was dehydrated from so much green tea. But now the machine is operating at full tilt. Despite this, the only changes to my diet included adding mixed beans and removing almost all salmon, tuna, and eggs. So, I’ve unintentionally become a vegetarian outside of mostly milk and occasional shrimp, and my health has skyrocketed. I’m also less hungry throughout the day, eating beans, Sunny Boy cereal, organic unsweetened cacao, sweet potatoes, leafy greens, apples, nuts, and seeds. Still, not much else. I’d be healthier with more vegetables, fruits, and flaxseed, but this is okay for now. Consistently eating healthy can have extreme benefits, such as keeping us healthy when we no longer have the financial means to sustain our typical diet. The hardships we face have benefits, just like the rewards we receive have deficits. For instance, some celebrities wish to return to everyday life, while people with disabilities may say their disabilities were the best things that could’ve happened. It’s wisest to find the beauty and joy in everything while chipping away at our dreams and goals.
As for working, I keep applying for many jobs every night, and when I apply to nearly twenty a night, I start getting feedback. Otherwise, it’s quiet. My interview for a job that paid over $160,000 yearly involved two rounds of tests and an assignment. I knew I’d likely get the job if I could get to the assignment stage, as assignments got me my last three career roles. So, I passed the first interview test, which pertained to logic and critical thinking, but didn’t pass the next test, which asked about platforms such as ZoomInfo and I have yet to use ZoomInfo. I also just received an invitation to the first round of reviews for a Chief Marketing Officer role. These director and leadership positions typically receive from 200 to 500 applications. Applicants with MBAs, which I don’t have, are in the upper echelon, comprising about 35% of the applications. So, to make big money in executive or managerial roles, we should get our undergraduate degree and consider the MBA route afterward. Consistent daily study is vital to our long-term success, and applying for a lot of jobs on a daily basis is critical, too.
Along with our studies, we can watch fashion courses to enhance our appearance, which is handy when interviewing for a job. We could take a fashion course on Udemy to buy inexpensive clothes that make us look fabulously professional. Then, we should consider shopping at Banana Republic online, putting clothing in our carts, and waiting for the selected items to go on clearance. I bought a $600 gorgeous Italian wool suit for less than $200 by shopping consistently on the Banana Republic website. It has no shoulder pads but comes with wide-length pants, perfect for my body type. When we take fashion courses and shop persistently, we can locate inexpensive items that make us look like we are in the C-Suite.
As for hobbies and learning, I aim to get my views into movie theatres. I’m figuring out how movies are brought into theatres. The independent filmmakers doing private showings in the theater must spend $500 to well over $1000 for a single day time slot. Expensive! However, the theatres hire staff to attend film screenings and contact distributors for movies the cinema buys. So, the cinema buys the movies, not the other way around, when the movies are hand-picked by the theater movie buyer. Therefore, the goal is to get our films to distributors and film showings attended by theater movie buyers. I’ll let us know how this process works exactly, as I have been on amicable terms with a cinema’s staff and will get the skinny at the very first opportunity. We must keep trying with every task, especially if faced with obstacles, because those obstacles define our victory. The fulfillment that comes from pursuing personal growth through hobbies and learning, on its own, is gratifying.
I saw a quote today from Thomas Jefferson. It said that if we want something we’ve never had, we have to do something we’ve never done. So, let’s do that something persistently, every day. As Maxine said in the movie MAXXXINE, “I will not accept a life I do not deserve.” In other words, we deserve the grand prize! And persistence is our winning ticket!
