Marie Well

I’m Marie Well, as in healthy well. At least, that’s my aim—to get well and make you well. We all have woes, from breakups to cancer to hoarder houses. I’m here to fix those woes—with tips mixed with my own tales.

Why read me? I’ve got a track record of fixin’ stuff. I’ve cured myself of anxiety. For a decade, I had anxiety attacks that struck almost daily. When not stricken, I’d write Voice articles, mostly on how to combat stress.

And then my world changed. One week went by with no attacks. A month. A year. Two years. And counting.

Now, I want to skyrocket our health—and bolster our creativity. After all, nothing soothes better than strokes of paint or tones of music or reps in a gym.

So, let’s get fit, creative, and well with Marie Well.

High Performance and Stress

In my view, pizza, booze, and Netflix won’t help anyone manage stress, especially over the long term.  But de-stressing strategies that lead to top performance bring the best kind of relief.  After all, you’re destined to be a rising star, hero, academic, transformer, tycoon, or whatever you desire. I once had severe workplace anxiety, and… Read more »

How to Live the Dream

“Living the dream” isn’t sipping Pina Coladas on a Mexican beach.  It isn’t sleeping until noon and lying on the hammock with a good mystery novel.  It isn’t working a four-hour workweek where the rest of the time is spent window shopping and gabbing in cafes. That’s not truly living, at least, not in my… Read more »

It’s Never Too Late to Be What You Might Have Been

“It’s never too late to be what you might have been” is a quote from Victorian novelist George Eliot. Did you ever dream so big that, when the dream got quashed, you were crushed for ages?  I know two men who long to retire in style.  Both of their dreams got quashed for different reasons:… Read more »
