Marie Well

I’m Marie Well, as in healthy well. At least, that’s my aim—to get well and make you well. We all have woes, from breakups to cancer to hoarder houses. I’m here to fix those woes—with tips mixed with my own tales.

Why read me? I’ve got a track record of fixin’ stuff. I’ve cured myself of anxiety. For a decade, I had anxiety attacks that struck almost daily. When not stricken, I’d write Voice articles, mostly on how to combat stress.

And then my world changed. One week went by with no attacks. A month. A year. Two years. And counting.

Now, I want to skyrocket our health—and bolster our creativity. After all, nothing soothes better than strokes of paint or tones of music or reps in a gym.

So, let’s get fit, creative, and well with Marie Well.

Tuck that tum into a keto speedo by next summer.   The ketogenic diet dishes up an anti-fat fad.   The keto diet burns flab by feeding the body fats, not carbs.  A paradox?  Well, your body nibbles fat for energy when starved of sugars.  And carbs break down into sugars.  So, starve the body of carbs… Read more »

The Fit Student—Put People to the Stress Test

What happens when we get cast out?  When people we love backstab us?  When we get fed fists?  Stress happens! In grade school, a girl got persecuted.  Swarms of students circled her, shoving her, day in, day out.  She feared for her life.  So, I started bringing her home at lunchtime.  That is, until Mom… Read more »

The Study Dude—Grandiose Goals

Make splashy goals.  You could wax into a star, a professor, a billionaire.  You could get stricken with deadly disease but thrive beyond your 80s.  You could get smacked with mental illness yet wind up a bank’s Chief Technology Officer.  Anything is possible, right?  Yes!  So set grandiose goals! Fashion your figure after Farrah Fawcett beyond your fortieth birthday.  Yes, strut like a six-million-dollar woman.  Doesn’t matter if you’ve beefed up 200 pounds.  Just glance at me.  I once plunked my 180-pound beefcake on a dead-tired weigh-scale.  Now I tuck my tees into size two pants, fleshed out with leaner muscles by the minute….
