Marie Well

I’m Marie Well, as in healthy well. At least, that’s my aim—to get well and make you well. We all have woes, from breakups to cancer to hoarder houses. I’m here to fix those woes—with tips mixed with my own tales.

Why read me? I’ve got a track record of fixin’ stuff. I’ve cured myself of anxiety. For a decade, I had anxiety attacks that struck almost daily. When not stricken, I’d write Voice articles, mostly on how to combat stress.

And then my world changed. One week went by with no attacks. A month. A year. Two years. And counting.

Now, I want to skyrocket our health—and bolster our creativity. After all, nothing soothes better than strokes of paint or tones of music or reps in a gym.

So, let’s get fit, creative, and well with Marie Well.

The Creative Spark!—What I’ve Learned About Emotional Wounds

Author, psychologist, and physician Dr. Raymond Moody said life-changing words.  He said something like, “The definition of normal is someone you don’t yet know very well.” In other words, hang around someone long enough, and you discover their flaws and wounds—their abnormalities.  That quote means a ton not for just fiction, but for your life… Read more »

COVID struck.  Now, in the aftermath, how can your small business cut costs? As an AU student, do you ever write anything that needs to be spoken? Communications students surely do.  But you might, too.  This is where you might find euphonics useful.  What are these creatures of verbal delight? According to Rayne Hall, euphonics are “certain sounds [that] have certain effects on the psyche.  By using words… Read more »

Which negotiation strategies are most successful?  Whether you’re a student or business owner, you gain when you negotiate.  Want a higher grade?  An extension on your assignment?  A sale of your textbook?  Ah, negotiation can come in handy.
