Marie Well

I’m Marie Well, as in healthy well. At least, that’s my aim—to get well and make you well. We all have woes, from breakups to cancer to hoarder houses. I’m here to fix those woes—with tips mixed with my own tales.

Why read me? I’ve got a track record of fixin’ stuff. I’ve cured myself of anxiety. For a decade, I had anxiety attacks that struck almost daily. When not stricken, I’d write Voice articles, mostly on how to combat stress.

And then my world changed. One week went by with no attacks. A month. A year. Two years. And counting.

Now, I want to skyrocket our health—and bolster our creativity. After all, nothing soothes better than strokes of paint or tones of music or reps in a gym.

So, let’s get fit, creative, and well with Marie Well.

Entrepreneurial or Hardworking Women Inspire Me

I Love Criticism

I don’t love giving criticism.  In fact, I avoid doling it out altogether.  That’s because I love all people and refuse to see their flaws.  But I’m coming to love receiving it.  When I receive criticism, I reflect deeply on it.  Sometimes I’m ready for the criticism to trigger change; other times, I’m not.  But… Read more »

How to Solve a Problem

I’m learning to be a critical thinker.  I’d like to show you how to apply critical thinking to achieving an AU degree.  You may want an undergraduate or graduate degree but feel apprehensive about pursuing one.  If so, here is a process for critical thinking you may benefit from applying: First, you take that goal—finishing… Read more »

My 2023 Courses and Software Recommendations

If there is one thing I love more than learning about people’s character strengths, it’s learning about their hobbies.  And what better way to learn about someone’s hobbies and personality than seeing what courses and software they use. With that said, here are some suggestions for courses and software that can improve life.  At least,… Read more »

Lessons Learned from Studying Olympians and Navy Seals

The Olympians and Navy Seals have much to teach about winning, perseverance, and overcoming.  That’s because they undergo extreme duress, whether in world-class competition or on a battlefield.  I study these high achievers because life poses battlefields and challenges.  I believe the end goal is to arrive at a place of love.  However, you may… Read more »

Train Your Mind

You are not your thoughts.  But the ideas you entertain can grow entangled with your reality, internally and, over time, externally.  So, it’s essential to weed out the ones that make you feel bad and nurture the ones that bring joy. You can train your thoughts like you can train your physical body.  For example,… Read more »

Reminiscing at my Old University

Today I walked through the corridors of my old university.  So much of it was the same, but I was not the same. The first stop was the fitness arenas.  I recalled when I rented entire gyms and punched and kicked pads with my partner, practicing martial arts.  I learned some advanced techniques; for instance,… Read more »

What Could Happen if Academia Accepted the Spiritual

Academia is largely divorced from the spiritual.  I believe that it will reach its full potential only once academia embraces spirituality—or unconditional love. As background, when I was in graduate school in communications studies, I had a choice of methodologies.  On one end, I could say I was victimized as the “other.” Many methodologies pertained… Read more »
